A Study For Living Out Your Golden Years With Purpose
Between your 40s and 60s, you may begin to notice that life is changing around you. Your successors are becoming clear. Your children are beginning to carry their own load. Your body is reminding you that your prime years may be behind you. The workplace, industry, ministry or church where you have invested so much may also be changing. These are not simply signs that life is slowing down. They may be signals that it is time to prepare for what comes next.
The phrase "golden years" often creates a picture of relaxation, leisure, travel, hobbies and time with grandchildren after a lifetime of work. But this understanding is not found in Scripture.
For the Christian, the calling does not end when a career ends. We are called to persevere, to fight the good fight, to run the race and to pursue God until the end. The next season of life can still be deeply productive, sacrificial and significant.
Tamati has been prepared to help you stop, take stock and intentionally consider what God may have for the years ahead. Rather than waiting for circumstances to force you into a new season, this study gives you an opportunity to begin preparing while you still have time, influence and choices.
While you can work through the study on your own, it is designed to be most beneficial as a group. Your accountability group can provide a sounding board as you make decisions and support you as you put those decisions into practice.
Your next season should not be left to chance.
At the beginning of every chapter, reflection questions will help you take stock of specific areas of your life. At the end of each chapter, action plans will help you turn what you have learned into practical steps for the years ahead.
These plans are not meant to be completed once and forgotten. They are blueprints for your next season and should be reviewed regularly as your circumstances change.
One practical way to stay engaged is to meet with your accountability group quarterly during the first year and then annually over the following five years.
If any of these realities sound familiar, you may already be in the transition. The question is not whether life will change. The question is whether you will intentionally prepare for the change and seek God's direction for what comes next.
The next season of your life is worth planning for.
Your Roles Are Changing
Are the people who will eventually succeed you in your different roles already becoming clear?
Are you beginning to sense that some of the responsibilities you once carried may soon belong to someone else?
Your Children Are Growing Up
Are your children beginning to carry their own load and build lives of their own?
Are you thinking about how your relationship with them should change as they become adults?
Your Season Is Changing
Is your body, career, industry, ministry or place of influence giving you signals that your prime season may be behind you?
Are you ready to consider, plan and position yourself for what God has ahead?
Tamati is designed for the transition between the prime years of life and the golden years. It is an opportunity to step back from the demands of the present and intentionally think about the years that lie ahead.
The goal is not simply to prepare for less work. It is to prepare for a season in which your experience, wisdom, relationships, resources and faith can continue to be used productively for God's purposes.

Who are you learning from?
Tamati comes from honest reflection on the realities of life as we move through our 40s, 50s and beyond. It is designed to help us think carefully about the changes taking place around us and respond to them intentionally.
The study draws attention to the transition that takes place as our roles change, our children grow, our bodies change and the places where we work and serve begin to shift.
Rather than viewing the later years of life as a period of simply stepping away, Tamati challenges us to consider how we can continue to live productive, sacrificial and purposeful lives.
The aim is simple: to help you prepare wisely for the season ahead and make the years that remain count for God's purposes.
